Digital Imaging

Diagnostic imaging is an essential part of holistic dentistry because it allows us to identify hidden issues that may be affecting both your oral health and your overall well-being.

It is a common misconception is that holistic dentists do not use dental x-rays. In reality, diagnostic imaging is an essential part of holistic dentistry because it allows us to identify hidden issues that may be affecting both your oral health and your overall well-being. Conditions such as infections, bone loss, impacted teeth, cavitations, or other concerns are often impossible to detect through a visual exam alone.

To enhance our evaluations, we use Overjet AI to assist in analyzing dental x-rays, helping patients better understand what we see and supporting more accurate, personalized treatment recommendations.

X-rays let us look for decay between teeth or under restorations. They let us check for bone loss or infection around the roots of your teeth, which are often hidden issues with no symptoms. They provide a reference for us when we need to provide treatment.

When we take x-rays, we use only digital imaging. Most patients find them easier and more comfortable than conventional film x-rays. Not only does digital imaging provide clearer images for diagnosis, but it also reduces radiation exposure by as much as 90%. As part of our holistic approach, we also offer optional homeopathic remedies for patients who would like additional support following the small amount of radiation exposure associated with dental x-rays.
